Vinted Users Share Displeasure About Sizing Updates

Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The second-hand shopping app has updated its sizing categories for women's and children's garments but did not contact all shoppers about the modification.

Digital Channels Response

Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category than originally posted because of the remapping.

Vinted explained the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.

It has advised users to review their products and manually change the size when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.

Size Classification Modifications

Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes an alphabetical indicator and numerical range like S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

User Experiences

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she said.

Required Changes

Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".

"Personally, this is quite irritating, as I'm chronically ill and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she said.

Service Background

The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK.

It has become a favored option compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop.

This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
